Texas Benefit is an independent insurance and financial service brokerage firm domiciled in San Antonio, Texas. Texas Benefit started as Polanco & Associates in March, 1993 specializing in individual health, life and small group insurance plans. The intent was to gain experience working with smaller cases gradually growing into the larger group market with increased experience to accommodate a larger client base. By 1997 the Company was growing rapidly and therefore increased staff was required to provide the personalized “value added” service that our smaller clients had grown accustomed to.
In 1996 our firm was certified by the South Central Regional Certification Agency as an MBE (Minority Business Enterprise) and DBE (Disadvantaged Business Enterprise) as well as SBE (Small Business Enterprise).
In it’s evolution of corporate identity; the firm changed its name to Texas Benefit in January, 2001 to quickly identify the purpose of the firm and the primary geographic area of service as well as the addition of Retirement Plans, Mutual Funds and Investments to our Product Portfolio.
As of 2006, Texas Benefit has continued to grow its client base serving many Texas Customers with multi-locations throughout the United States. Now we offer Texas benefits to the entire State of Texas along with nationwide benefits and services.

Armando F. Polanco
Armando graduated from St. Mary’s University with a Bachelor’s Degree in 1979. Shortly after he became a banker at a local bank until 10 years later, while still in the Navy Reserve, he was recalled to Desert Storm for a year tour. Armando retired as a Lieutenant Commander from the Navy after 23 years of proud service, and left his bank job upon his return. With the experience at hand in the finance industry he started Polanco and Associates in 1992, later to become Texas Benefit as we know it today.
Armando is a member of The San Antonio Life Underwriters and San Antonio Health Underwriters Associations. Armando has enjoyed doing volunteer work with the United Way in fundraising campaigns; and also serving as President of the Board for the South Central Texas Alzheimer’s Association for 5 years. He is also an active member of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
Diane Polanco
Diane started in the insurance industry in 1988 as a Marketing Representative for a third party administrator specializing in employee benefits. She eventually became the Director of Account Services for Humana and a Marketing Representative for Aetna Health thereafter.
Diane joined Texas Benefit in 1999 as President and focuses on Sales and Service for the firm. She is a Member of the San Antonio Health Underwriters Association having served as Second Vice President and Secretary. She is currently a member of the National Employee Benefit Advisory Forum. She devotes time volunteering with many non-profit organizations such as Relay for Life and the Humane Society.
Armando and Diane Polanco are also proud and active members of The Community Bible Church in San Antonio, Tx.
